Alpus is an offline dictionary and Wikipedia browser.
All dictionaries are extracted, indexed, and optimized automatically using 'Import Dictionary' option of the 'Options' menu ('Import from URL' option also allows prior downloading). Profiles allow grouping dictionaries without duplicating storage. You can edit and customize properties of a dictionary, such as visible name.
Resource files of a dictionary can be put into multiple ZIP files with arbitrary sizes and file names. The resource ZIP files will be detected and indexed automatically.
The application supports searching full-text of all dictionaries for exact matches. The feature requires one-time upgrading ('Upgrade All' option of the 'Options' menu) of a dictionary which can take very long time to complete, since every single word anywhere on the dictionary is made searchable during the process.
